Progression Path

All 23 Rebirth levels in Star Wars: Droid Tycoon — credit costs, required droids, and where players stall.

Updated June 5, 2026

How Rebirth works

Rebirth is the prestige system. Each level requires two things:

  1. A set amount of credits
  2. Specific droids active in your base — at a specific rarity and version

The required droids don’t need to be working; parking them in the rest area counts. Each rebirth grants a permanent boost to credit income and unlocks additional base areas and purchasable droid slots — so rebirths compound: more slots → more droids working → faster route to the next rebirth. The base icons in-game show exactly which rebirth level unlocks each slot, so you can scout your next unlock before committing.

Slot unlocks follow a pattern: Worker → Astromech → Battle cycling through level 9, then Worker/Astromech alternating through 16. Battle slots stop at rebirth 9 and no new slots come after 16 — from 17 on, rebirths are pure income multiplier and bragging rights.

Requirements from Rebirth 11 onward were rebalanced in the May 12, 2026 update. Levels 21–23 were added recently — most guides still stop at 20; the 21–23 requirements were first surfaced by the r/StarWarsDroidTycoon community.

One rule that changes your planning: a higher version always satisfies a lower-version requirement. If a rebirth asks for a Gold and you own the Beskar, you’re covered. For droids that repeat across many levels (especially the Legendaries through the high teens — R7, Mono-WLKR, B2-RP, Mecha-Droid), getting one Beskar version means never worrying about that droid’s requirements again.

Reading the ladder

  • Levels 1–4 are momentum. Modest credit costs, mostly Base and Gold versions of droids you’ll collect naturally. Take them as fast as you qualify.
  • Levels 5–8 introduce Diamond gates. This is where Upgrade Chips start to matter — you can’t wait on Sandcrawler luck for every Diamond requirement. See Strategies for how to farm chips efficiently.
  • Level 9 is the first wall. Groundmech at Rainbow is the first Rainbow requirement, and Epic-tier Rainbow upgrades aren’t cheap. Plan for it from level 7 onward.
  • Levels 12+ are the Legendary game. From here the ladder runs through the Legendary droid roster (Mecha-Droid, Mono-WLKR, R7, B2-RP, Cyclo-Grav, Opti-STRK, BB9) at escalating versions — and Legendary upgrade costs are brutal (4,000 chips for a single Rainbow tier). Levels 19–20 ask for Rainbow Legendaries across the board.
  • Levels 21–23 are the Beskar game. Every requirement is a Beskar-version droid — Epic Beskars at 21–22, then the Legendary trio (Opti-STRK, Mono-WLKR, R7) at Beskar for the final gate, with credit costs of 3T/4.5T/6T.

When to rebirth

Unlike some tycoons, there’s no “should I wait?” math here — rebirth as soon as you meet the requirements. The income boost and extra base areas always beat staying put. The real strategic question is which droid upgrades to chase next, since those are what gate the later levels.

One exception: if a Super Rebirth event is live or imminent (boosted rebirth rewards), and you’re close to qualifying, time your rebirth into the window — see the Events page.
