Super Rebirth & Nova Crystals
How Super Rebirth works in Star Wars: Droid Tycoon — unlock requirements, what resets and what you keep, Nova Crystal payouts, the Nova Shop, Iconic Droids, and the four cycling rebirth-requirement paths.
Updated June 12, 2026
What Super Rebirth is
Added in update v1.16 (June 9, 2026), Super Rebirth is the prestige layer above the rebirth ladder — the building behind the Cantina. Where a normal rebirth resets your factory, a Super Rebirth resets your entire run — droids, rebirth rank, everything — in exchange for two permanent rewards: a credit bonus on all future earnings and Nova Crystals, the currency behind the new Nova Shop.
Unlock requirements
Rebirth 12 plus a Rainbow Legendary droid. (That’s our second-run reading — first-run requirements may differ; being confirmed.)
What resets, what you keep
The in-game warning is explicit:
Trade in your progress for permanent rewards.
You reset: base progress, droids, currencies, rebirth rank, pickaxe level, blueprints.
You keep: Droidex, Droidsmith level, cosmetics, Flawless unlocks, Iconic Droid unlocks (repurchasable at the Iconic vendor).
Everything account-wide survives — your Droidex crafting milestones, Flawless earnings boosts, and cosmetics all carry over. Everything run-specific is gone, including Upgrade Chips and blueprints. Spend them before you pop.
Nova Crystal payouts: the full table
The payout depends entirely on your rebirth level when you pop. The complete table (community tracker, matching our in-game reads):
| Rebirth level at pop | Nova Crystals |
|---|---|
| 12 | 11 |
| 13 | 16 |
| 14 | 22 |
| 15 | 29 |
| 16 | 37 |
| 17 | 46 |
| 18 | 56 |
| 19 | 67 |
| 20 | 79 |
| 21 | 92 |
| 22 | 106 |
| 23 | 121 |
The curve accelerates — each level is worth more than the last (+5 at 13, growing to +15 at 23) — so deep pops beat frequent shallow ones: one Rebirth 23 run (121) out-earns a Rebirth 16 and a Rebirth 18 run combined (93), despite similar total climbing.
You can also earn crystals without popping: completing the hard daily challenge pays 1 Nova Crystal per day. Small, but it compounds — it’s the only way to make progress toward big sinks like Flawless Charm between Super Rebirths, and one more reason the daily routine matters.
Known issue: community reports say a current glitch pays out half the intended amounts above. If you’re sitting on a deep rebirth rank and can wait, holding until the payout is confirmed fixed protects your biggest run.
The Nova Shop: full price list
Behind the Cantina, next to the Super Rebirth station. Four tabs — costs and level counts per the community tracker (a ”—” means not yet measured; whether multi-level upgrades scale in price per level is being confirmed):
Core — permanent account upgrades:
| Upgrade | Cost | Levels | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| Max Health | 1 | 8 | More player health (amount per level being measured) |
| Damage | 1 | 8 | More damage — feeds stormtrooper farming (per-level % being measured) |
| Movement Speed | 1 | 18 | Move faster (per-level % being measured) |
| Jawa Bartering | 5 | 5 | Likely better Jawa sell prices — tooltip being confirmed |
| Credits | 10 | — | Boosts credit earnings (size being measured) |
| Pickaxe Mastery | 15 | 11 | Likely permanent pickaxe levels — faster scrap + build-whacking — tooltip being confirmed |
| Super Crates | 25 | 3 | Unknown — tooltip being confirmed |
| Double Daily Quests | 75 | 1 | Doubles daily quests (whether that’s more quests or double rewards — being confirmed) |
| Flawless Charm | 500 | 1 | Likely boosts Flawless craft odds — size being confirmed |
Workshop — factory and crafting upgrades:
| Upgrade | Cost | Levels | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| Upgrade Chip Scrap | 5 | 10 | Likely Upgrade Chips from scrap breaking — tooltip being confirmed |
| Blueprint Scrap | 12 | 4 | Likely blueprint drops from scrap — tooltip being confirmed |
| Crafting Speed | 18 | — | Droids build faster |
| Scrap Value | 25 | — | Scrap pays more credits |
| Collect All | 25 | 3 | Likely collect earnings from all droids at once — being confirmed |
| Lounge Slot | 30 | 4 | Extra rest-area (lounge) slots |
| Blueprint Storage | 75 | 3 | Hold more blueprints |
| Rebirth Droid Alert | — | — | Likely an alert when a rebirth-required droid appears — cost + tooltip being confirmed |
| Blueprint Vendor | — | — | Likely unlocks a blueprint-selling vendor — cost + tooltip being confirmed |
Effects marked “likely” are inferred from the upgrade’s name, not yet read from in-game tooltips — they get replaced with the real text as it’s collected. Send us a tooltip and it lands same-day.
Cosmetic — the Nova Crystal base paint, 30 crystals, three stages.
Iconic Droids — the Mythics, 30 Nova Crystals each: BB-8 (available now), Mister Bones, and IG-11 Marshal (the latter two listed “available at a later date”), plus the brand-new CB-23 — also unreleased, and a Legendary rather than a Mythic despite sitting in the Iconic vendor. Once unlocked, an Iconic survives future Super Rebirths — the unlock persists and the droid comes back via the vendor.
What jumps out: most cheap upgrades cost 1–25 crystals — a single Rebirth 16+ pop funds several — while Flawless Charm at 500 is the endgame sink, costing more than four maxed-out Rebirth 23 runs. Budget accordingly.
The ladder changes after you pop — four cycling paths
Dev-confirmed: there are now four rebirth-requirement paths, and each Super Rebirth advances you to the next one in order — Path 1 (the original requirements), then 2, 3, 4, and back around.
Every path costs the same credits per level but gates on different droids. Path 1 is the original ladder; Path 2 (after your first Super Rebirth) swaps in Path 1’s shelf-sitters — Mouse, Gonk, ID10, NAV-EX, VECT-Arm, the Epic roster — and Paths 3 and 4 lean harder on the early Rares before all four converge on the same Legendary-Beskar endgame. All four are now fully mapped — every level — in the Progression guide’s tabbed ladder, and every droid’s Glossary page shows its gates on all four.
You can’t pre-farm the new gates — your droids reset — but knowing them tells you which Sandcrawler spawns to keep on the climb back instead of selling.
Should you Super Rebirth?
- If fear is the only thing stopping you — go. Everything account-wide survives, and the system is built around coming back stronger. Holding at Rebirth 12+ out of nerves just delays the compounding.
- Shop first, then pop. Price what you want from the tables above, then aim for the rebirth level that pays it — the payout table tells you exactly how deep to go.
- Deeper is better. A Rebirth 12 pop pays 11 crystals; Rebirth 20 pays 79. The curve accelerates, so pushing a few more levels before popping is almost always worth it. Balance that against the glitch note above.
- This is a multi-run system. You won’t afford every upgrade and Iconic in one go — plan on multiple Super Rebirths, one target per run.
- Spend before you pop. Chips, blueprints, and credits reset — convert them into things that persist (Flawless crafts, Droidex completion) first.
Still being confirmed
- First-run unlock requirements (vs. our second-run reading)
- The half-payout glitch’s exact scope and fix status
- Whether multi-level Nova Shop upgrades scale in price per level; missing costs (Rebirth Droid Alert, Blueprint Vendor) and level counts (Credits, Crafting Speed, Scrap Value); effect sizes per upgrade
- CB-23 (an unreleased Legendary, despite its Iconic-vendor listing): type, stats, and release date
- Whether the slot-unlock pattern repeats on Paths 2–4 (the four ladders are mapped; slot data is Path 1 only)
